What are the current and upcoming wedding trends you are most excited about?

What is your favorite wedding movie scene?
“Father of the Bride” when they are “blow drying” the floral in the front yard to melt the frost. And, “Bride Wars”, with the beautiful setup of the 2 Park Plaza Hotel weddings in New York.

Do you think it is appropriate to ever use silk flowers versus fresh cut?
No, the importance of flowers in weddings dates back to the end of the nineteenth century, based on the flowers that were chosen for the wedding represented the feelings and emotions of the celebration. To this day, flowers represent the beauty and love of life and all of the emotions that surround us.

What are your thoughts on pinterest/vision board with brides?
Although pinterest and similar apps may be overwhelming to a bride, it is very helpful in being able to find inspiration and images for what she is looking for. However, it is best if the bride “highlights” the style she is looking for without expecting and exact replica. The designers enjoy the ability to be creative and to design their own look based on the inspiration but not trying to duplicate it.

What are your top misconceptions that brides ask?
Brides will request less expensive flowers as substitutions trying to create the same look. That is not always possible or maybe misconstrued, for example substituting bunches of baby’s breath, however, not realizing that we need triple the amount to achieve the same size of a large arrangement, therefore this will not help reduce the costs.

Do you have any favorite weddings that stand out with a unique idea, concept, or floral design that you were proud to be a part of?
We love being able to bring a bride’s vision to life. We love the opportunity to be creative and pull energy from a bride’s inspiration. We had a bride that gave us a few key requests and then let us create the event. Her bouquet was all white gardenias with soft wispy green foliage and fresh cotton, breathtakingly southern.
